Having shared stages with legends such as Abdullah Ibrahim, Thandiswa Mazwai, Omar Sosa, Nduduzo Makhathini, and Shabaka Hutchings, Mvubu brings a rich blend of experience, creativity, and heartfelt expression to every performance.

A founding member of Shabaka and The Ancestors and leader of his own Abathwebuli Trio, Mthunzi’s sound bridges the roots of African jazz and the spirit of global improvisation. His debut album, The 1st Gospel, earned him the Mzantsi Jazz Award for Best Jazz Male and solidified his place as one of South Africa’s leading musical voices.

Expect a night of inspired interplay, soaring melodies, and deeply spiritual grooves a celebration of jazz at its most expressive and alive.
