Dive into the Revolutionary World of Godard!

This month, we’re thrilled to feature Jean-Luc Godard’s 1967 classic, La Chinoise—a daring blend of comedy and drama that captures the fervor of youthful idealism against the backdrop of a shifting political landscape.

Set in a Paris apartment adorned with little red books, we meet a group of passionate young Marxists led by the charismatic Véronique (played by the enchanting Anne Wiazemsky). As they delve into the complexities of Marxist-Leninist thought, their discussions take a radical turn when Véronique proposes an audacious plan: the assassination of a high-profile figure.

With Jean-Pierre Léaud and Juliet Berto rounding out the cast, La Chinoise serves as a prophetic glimpse into the revolutionary spirit that would soon erupt in France during the events of May 68. Godard’s bold cinematic style and sharp wit challenge viewers to ponder the nature of activism and the price of change.

Join us for an unforgettable exploration of youth, politics, and the power of ideas!
