An immersive installation, a poetic uprising, and creative call-and-response.
This Youth Day, we invite you to experience a powerful afternoon where art and spoken word collide. As part of the City of Shacks exhibition by Kopano Mashike, this special collaborative installation with Slam City brings together ten poets, each responding to the work with original poetry.
📝 Slam City draws inspiration from American-style slam poetry bold, urgent, and unapologetic. Each poet has been given a visual prompt from the exhibition, creating a dialogue between image and word, space and voice.
🎤 The poetry is the program, no speeches, no filters just raw, resonant art in motion.
