About Ory Katalayi:
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Cape Town, Ory’s artistic journey began in childhood, exchanging cartoon drawings with friends and refining his craft through years of dedication and self-discovery. His work is deeply personal, embodying themes of expression, guidance, love, and transformation.

As a multi-disciplinary artist, Ory works across drawing, painting, sculpting, and photography, constantly exploring new techniques and materials to expand his creative horizons. His unique projects, like the 2019 series “La Sapuer”, merge fashion, African wax fabrics, and handmade frames, showcasing his innovative approach to art and storytelling.
